Privacy Policy
Last updated July 5, 2026
Zympl is a daily planner built by one person. This policy explains, in plain language, what data Zympl collects, why, and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, email hello@zympl.appand I'll answer.
Who this covers
This policy applies to the Zympl web app at app.zympl.app and this landing page at zympl.app (together, "Zympl"). Zympl is operated by its sole maker, based in California, United States. In this policy "we" and "I" both mean that operator.
What I collect
Only what's needed to run the app and understand how it's used:
- Account details — your email address, and a name if you provide one, so you can sign in and your data can travel with you.
- Your content — the tasks, projects, journal entries, habits, goals, notes, and time entries you create. This is yours; I store it so the app can show it back to you.
- Usage data — anonymized product analytics about which screens and features get used, so I know what to fix and build next.
- Technical data — basic log information your browser sends automatically, such as device type, browser, and approximate region, used for security and debugging.
I don't ask for anything I don't need, and there are no ads or advertising trackers anywhere in Zympl.
How I use it
- To run the app — sign you in, store your data, and sync it across devices.
- To keep it working — diagnose bugs, prevent abuse, and keep accounts secure.
- To improve it — understand which features help so I can shape what comes next.
- To reach you when necessary — occasional service messages about your account or important changes. I won't spam you.
I do not sell your personal information, and I never will.
Cookies & analytics
Zympl uses cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences — these are essential to the app working.
For product analytics I use Amplitude, which sets a cookie and records anonymized events about how the app is used (for example, "opened the timeline"). It's used to understand feature usage in aggregate, not to profile you individually or serve ads. Most browsers let you block or clear cookies in their settings; blocking non-essential cookies won't stop the core app from working.
Who I share it with
I keep the list of third parties short, and each one only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Supabase — hosts the database and handles authentication. Your account and content are stored here.
- Amplitude — receives the anonymized usage events described above.
These providers process data on my behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. I may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of Zympl and its users. Beyond that, I don't share your data with anyone.
Where it's stored & how it's kept safe
Your data is stored with Supabase and protected in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but I use reputable infrastructure, limit who can access data, and design the app to collect as little as possible. Zympl is operated from the United States; if you use it from elsewhere, your data is processed in the U.S.
How long I keep it
Your content stays as long as your account is active so it's there when you come back. If you delete something in the app, or delete your account, the corresponding data is removed from the live database, with residual copies clearing from backups over time. Ask any time and I'll help you export or erase your data.
Your choices & rights
It's your data. Regardless of where you live, you can:
- Access a copy of the data associated with your account.
- Correct or update your account details.
- Delete your content or your entire account.
- Opt out of non-essential cookies through your browser.
If you're a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Since Zympl doesn't sell personal information, there's nothing to opt out of on that front. To exercise any right, email hello@zympl.app.
Children
Zympl is a general productivity tool and isn't directed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided data, email hello@zympl.app and I'll remove it. If you're under the age of majority where you live, please use Zympl with a parent or guardian's involvement.
Changes to this policy
As Zympl grows, this policy may change. When it does, I'll update the date at the top, and for meaningful changes I'll give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use Zympl after an update means you accept the revised policy.
